Sardinian Part 1

In the Western Mediterranean lies the island of Sardinia.  A part of Italy politically, but a country all its own.
From the ancient "Nurage" megalithic structures we have a performance of the Launeddas, an instrument said to have been brought to this island 3000 years ago.
Then, to a church perched high in the mountains, Tenores di Bitti, a polyphonic group singing a cappella in a tradition said to have originated 4000 years ago.
In Barbagia (Land of the Barbarians) on the eve of the festival of St. Antonio Abate, the town square is set ablaze.
Out of the fire come the Mamuthones of Mamoiada.  The animals and the humans that try to control them dance in the flames with 50 kilos of bells on their backs.
