Mamuthones della Pro Loco Mamoiada

During the festival of St. Antonio Abate fires are lit throughout villages in Barbagia.  From the flames emerge the Issohadores and the Mamuthones (the men and the beasts).
With 50+ kilos of bells and heavy furs, the Mamuthones dance in the fire as they have for thousands of years.
