11 CONVERSATION
From Cuba to New York and then to Puerto Rico, Salsa has had many different moments. Although Fania Music defined the 70's when the Fania All Stars took the stage at the Cheetah Club in New York, in the mid 90's a new wave began with the Puerto Rico Salsa Congress and then two years later with the Los Angeles Salsa Congress. Dancers from all over the world begin to assemble to participate in a form of borderless communication, the euphoria of dance.
In Puerto Rico where dance is something young and old do together, children begin to take dance lessons sometimes from the age of five. From the Broadway style performance with the children of the Julie Mayoral School of Dance, to the elegant and smooth Tito and Tamara, to the stage and backstage of the 14th annual Los Angeles Salsa Congress, this episode entitled "Conversation" takes you on a journey through the present day world of Salsa and the conversation of dance.
